A coastal town and resort on the Cote d'Azer close to the French border with Italy, the sleepy town of Menton was founded in the 13th century by the Genoese. With its sunny climate and cascade of pastel-coloured buildings, it is one of the most attractive yet less well-known towns on the entire coast.
