With a multitude of historic buildings and monuments, it is no surprise that in 1985 the Old City of Segovia and its aqueduct were declared as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. The Alcazar of Segovia (literally "Segovia Fortress" is a medieval palace said to be an influence for Walt Disney's Cinderella Castle while the Aqueduct of Segovia is also regarded as the most impressive Roman Structure in Spain because of its long span, architectural beauty and uncharacteristic slenderness.
