The Avatar Mountains

Achieving world renown as the scene where Avatar was filmed, what many do not realise is that Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is also listed as a UNESCO global geopark. Its pillar-like formations is a distinct hallmark of Chinese landscape and has often been depicted in ancient Chinese paintings. An interesting fact is that Zhangjiajie was also recognised as China's first national forest park in 1982.
